It s sturdy and gave us plenty of space for our trip to florida. This system is easier to use with gloves on than previous locks thule has outfitted cargo carriers with. It s sturdy well built and secure. The combination of sturdy construction thoughtful locking mechanisms incredibly mounting clamps and an ergonomic handle make for an obvious editors choice award winner.
